Kayak services on Halong Bay are operational again from May 1, 2017, said Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Long.
After a month stopping this service, in the April 26 meeting, about the plan to organize activities on the bay including kayaking, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Long has permitted this service to be resumed from May 1.
However, to ensure management work and tourists’ demand, Quang Ninh People’s Committee only allow kayak services on Halong Bay as well as hand-operated cable ferry in place on the tour like: Ba Hang fishing village, Luon Cave, Dong Tien Lake (Fairy Lake Cave), Trinh Nu Cave (Virgin Cave), especially these activities is operated in the daytime.
Only those meeting requirements and signing contract with the municipal authorities are eligible to offer kayak services.
Ha Long Bay currently boasts more than 1,400 kayaks, including nearly 1,100 operated by 163 overnight vessels; 33 high-speed canoes, 108 small boats using oars and several aquatic entertainment activities.
